It a Mall World After All Janette Rallison Books
Guys, you know I don’t typically read contemporary books because I just find them too everyday-life for me. I need something supernatural in my life (and not just the TV show ;) which I love)! So it’s strange that I would start off 2017 with this book, right? But I just felt like reading this! I love Janette’s other paranormal books (including those under her pen name, C.J. Hill) so I thought I might give this a try and oh my god I am so glad I did because I loved it! It was so much fun! Will I start reading more contemporary books? Hey, don’t push me lol ;) I will probably read all of Janette’s other contemporary books though. That’s a start, right? She is just amazing and I highly recommend this book! So, Charlotte works at a perfume counter at the mall when she sees her best friend’s boyfriend out in the mall with another girl... flirting with her! Charlotte of course tells Briana what she saw, but does she believe Charlotte? Not after Bryant “explained” himself to Briana. Even Bryant’s best friend Colton, who is in Charlotte’s study group, is telling her that she didn’t see what she thinks she saw. But Charlotte is having none of that. She saw what she saw and is determined to find out the truth. But with Colton (a guy she may or may not be falling for?) trying to stop her and Briana (her best freaking friend) thinking she wants to break them up for no other reason than that Charlotte doesn’t like Bryant, it will be hard for Charlotte. In the end, Charlotte will have to choose between justice and friendship.
It’s A Mall World After All was really freaking good! It was very fun and humorous, and Janette always writes the most sweetest romances ever *swoon* To this day I have not read one of her books that I have not liked (and I’ve read like 6, I think). I loved the interactions between Colton and Charlotte and just all the embarrassing (but humorous) situations Charlotte got herself into, and all because of her fierce loyalty. I just found myself really relating to Charlotte! For example:
"Don’t talk to [People at the Mall] though, as this just encourages them to talk back to you. Talking leads to trouble". --Charlotte
"I hardly ever wear high heels. It’s not like I need the extra height, and wearing heels is about as comfortable as strapping two shovel onto your feet." --Charlotte
It was just a perfect book all around! I highly recommend it and any of Janette’s other books!

It a Mall World After All Janette Rallison Books Reviews
The story was decent and the characters were fairly fleshed out. The main character particularly followed a very natural and believable character arc, which was a nice surprise — especially since I've found that most characters with her traits tend not to.
I did have a technical issue with the version, in that some of the paragraphs weren't broken up correctly, and some of them even had two or three bits of dialogue that should have been broken up by their speakers all squished together. As someone who frequently reads stories that people have posted on the Internet, I'm used to not letting errors like that ruin a story for me, but it's still not particularly professional. So yeah.
But it was a good story. I would recommend it if you're looking for a light, fun read.
Another fun read from Rallison. Charlotte is out to prove that her friend isn’t being cheated on by her boyfriend. Charlotte is being accused as being out for revenge. She has to ask herself if she is seeking justice or being a good friend to Brianna? But is she also jeopardizing her own chance at happiness? Is she destined to being lonely as she pushes everyone at school away? Charlotte has to admit to herself that she has feelings for Colton. The question is what is she willing to do about it?
I just read a book called It’s a Mall World After All and OMGoodness, what a fun story! I couldn’t believe how much the MALL, of all places, relates to everyday life. It makes perfect sense NOW! The main characters were great. I laughed out loud in many places. And, of course, I was completely mortified in the parts where I should be mortified because could totally relate to making a fool of myself on a regular basis. Great read for a YA or anyone who just wants a fun read.
5 Stars. Clean.
I read this one years ago and loved it just as much then as I did this time around. Rallison has a great snarky teen voice that really makes the characters come alive and keeps the reader laughing.
Not all smart girls are...smart. Charlotte works in the mall and is determined to prove to her best friend that her boyfriend is a cheating slime ball. Charlotte can't get over how mean boys were in Jr High, which is a shame, but she's strong enough now to dish it right back out and take her flaws and awkwardness in stride.
The characters are great--especially Colton--and the situations are pretty funny. I love a story with a little conflict and growth amidst the fun and this one delivers. Such a fun, holiday story for the youngster in me.
Content mild romance (talk of cheating); mild language
Romance, YA, clean
This is probably the funniest thing I have read this year. Truly a gem of a read, although it you don't like YA, you might not enjoy it. JR has written a clever, fast paced novel that truly is a fun social commentary. Charlotte and Colton both have some introspection to do and experience. Charlotte's loyalty, her giving heart, and her bias for not dating any of the guys who mercilessly teased her in Junior High made for a witty, clever, and light-hearted read that had some foundation to it. Charlotte and Colton were a fun couple to read their 'fall'. Their 'dance' around each other was fun to read, and I laughed out loud at some of the 'incidences'. Glad she found one of the good guys! Her family, friends, the social nuances, were cleverly told, and a roller-coaster ride of a read. Hopefully Brianna will find a HEA in the future!
I rarely give 5's, save mostly for classics, but this was too laugh out loud funny, and of course the romance was a cute fall! I have read other things by J.R., and this is my absolute favorite of anything she has written.
